Nate Pringle, the Commander of VFW Post 12196 in Leland are participating in the 9/11 Remembrance at Town of Leland Founder’s Park.

Post 68 Color Guard will attend. The two Post Commanders thought that would be a great idea to have both veteran organizations represented.

The remembrance will be held on Monday, September 11th starting at 8:30 am and coincides with the attack on the Twin Towers.

The event will last approximately 2 hours and the uniform of the day will be khaki pants, blue post shirts, and post baseball caps. I will need to tell Nate the number of members attending asap.

On September 11th, 2023, VFW Post 12196 will sponsor the National Day of Remembrance at Leland’s Founder’s Park.

Brunswick County Commissioner Frank Williams, Leland Mayor Brenda Bozeman, Police Chief Jeremy Humphrey, and Fire Chief Rodney Hayes will be the invited guests and dignitaries.

Brunswick BIG BAND will perform a 30-minute program of patriotic music.  The public is invited to attend and children are most welcome.
