Veterans Experience Action Center (VEAC) 2025 Sign-up

Event Chairs: Dale Todd and Lane Adrian

DETAILS:

TITLE of Event:   2025 VEAC Sign-up - Veterans Experience Action Center

Description:  During this event, VA Employees from the VA Regional Office in Winston Salem will be on-hand to help out veterans with their VA Claims.  We have been participating in this event for the past 6 years.  Post 68 has always had the highest number of volunteer participants.  Your help is needed to make this event a success for those fellow veterans who need help.  During the 3 day event, over 500 veterans will be helped and over $1 million dollars will be awarded.

We’re expecting another large VEAC event with on-site assistance being provided to another 600+ veterans. One of the most critical keys to success is the presence onsite of a large number of volunteers. These volunteers will perform a range of activities including: assisting with registration, managing the parking lot, providing support to VA personnel, assisting the individual veterans to make sure they get to the appropriate support station, assisting with food service, and other duties as assigned. There will be two shifts manned by volunteers each day plus an additional shift for setting up the site prior to the VEAC on Wednesday afternoon, May 7th, and another one for breaking down the site after the VEAC on Sunday morning, May 11. We are asking all of the veteran support organizations in the area to poll their membership to identify volunteers who are willing to help out.

In order to complete the planning and preparations prior to the VEAC, we need the names, contact information, shift preferences  from your organization prior to Thursday, May 8th. You can use the attached spreadsheet to gather the information to send to us, or send us an email with the required information. We’ll be assigning shifts as inputs are received. When we have a particular shift fully staffed, we’ll be asking anyone requesting that shift to select an alternate choice. So the sooner we get the inputs the more likely that volunteers can get their first choice. Note that volunteers can select multiple shifts.

WHEN:  2025 VEAC is scheduled to be held on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, May 8, 9, and 10th.
