Post 68 presents BCC student veteran with scholarship

On 14 January 2022, Officers of the John E. Jacobs American Legion Post 68 in Leland, NC presented US Marine Corps Veteran Andrew Burgmuller with a $500 academic scholarship.  Mr. Burgmuller is a student at Brunswick Community College in Boliva, NC. Post 68 is sponsoring this annual scholarship in partnership with The Brunswick Community College Foundation. 

Mr. Burgmuller is a Marine Corp veterans and is the first recipient of this scholarship sponsored by American Legion Post 68.

Post 68 is a 200+ member Veteran organization whose members play an important role in serving Veterans in the Leland, NC area. They work closely with Brunswick County Veterans Services, Brunswick Family Assistance, and other service organizations to identify and assist veterans and their families in need. They participate in many community activities, such as parades, memorials, dedications, and Veteran funerals. The Post sponsors local students to participate in American Legion Boys State and Girls State and provides scholarships to better educate our children. Post 68 also supports the North Brunswick High School JROTC and other local schools.

The Brunswick Community College Foundation, organized in 1982, is a charitable organization 501(c)(3) instituted to enhance the mission of Brunswick Community College to a level of excellence and purpose for students and the community. The Foundation is a vital resource for the acceptance and solicitation of all gifts for the continued growth and progress of Brunswick Community College.
